POOLS, OPEN DECKS and
SPA
SPA
The Radiance Day Spa is a
complex high on Deck 12 that
includes the spa, the fitness area
and the salon.
In the spa itself, guests can
purchase massages, facials,
reflexology and other
treatments. (See Spa menu from
one cruise). Between treatments,
guests can unwind in the
Relation area (below).
Radiance has two pool areas. The forward pool area is
a fantasy land called the Solarium, An
Asian-inspired paradise, it lies beneath a retractable
glass ceiling and thus can be used in any weather. The
area includes a pool, two whirlpools, deck chairs, its
own bar, and its own café.
The outdoor Pool area is a much more traditional
cruise ship pool area. In addition to the pool, it has
two whirlpools, bandstand, a movie screen and a
bar.
On the aft side of the funnel is
Royal Caribbean's signature
rock climbing wall (above
left). Other sports facilities
include: a basketball/sports
court (above right); ping
pong (right); shuffleboard
(below right); a jogging
track (below left); and a
mini-golf course (left),
Radiance's open deck space is populated with chairs for relaxing
in the sun (above).
Below: One can walk outdoors from the tip of Radiance's bow to
her stern on the wrap around promenade. At the bow is a raised
platform that is marked for helicopter landings. However, most of
the time, passengers can use it to get a unique perspective of the
ship's passage.
The Thermal Suite
includes a sauna, various
styles of steam rooms and
heated thermal chairs.
Facilities in the
fitness center
include treadmills,
stationary bikes,
resistance exercise
machines, free
weights, and a large
area for aerobics and
fitness classes. (See
menu of offerings on
one cruise).
