THE SEAS
PHOTO TOUR
AND
COMMENTARY
Serenade has two main pool areas. The furtherest forward of these is
the Solarium. This is an impressively beautiful space done as an
exotic Asian fantasy. It is covered by a glass magradome so that it can
be used regardless of the weather conditions. The area is adults only
and features not only a pool and whirlpools but also its own bar and
cafe.
The Pool area has a pool, two
whirlpools and a bar. In a bit of
whimsy, a statue of a large man
with an innertube is perpetually
about to enter the pool.
There is an array of sports facilities on Serenade
covering a wide range of physical exertion
including; rock climbing (left); jogging (below
left); basketball (below); schuffleboard (below
right); ping pong (right); and mini-golf (above
right). There are also places where one can just
lay in the sun (above).
A guest does not have to climb to the top of the ship to go outdoors - - Serenade has
a wrap-around promenade that circles Decks Five and Six. At the bow, there is a
broad area with benches. It is also used as a helicopter pad in emergencies.
The Mystical Thermal Sanctuary (above) has heated
ceramic chairs, aromatherapy steam chambers, tropical
rain forest showers and a sauna.
Between treatments, guests can have refreshments in the
relaxation room (left).
The Spa complex also
includes the
ShipShape Center,
which offers seminars
and fitness
instruction. Its fitness
has facilities include
treadmills, weights,
and exercise
machines. There is
also an area for
aerobics and other
classes.
The Spa also includes a Salon for
hair styling, facilas and other beauty
treatments.
