POOLS, OPEN DECKS and
SPA
SPA
The Jewel Day Spa
complex includes the spa, the
fitness area and the salon.
In the spa itself, guests can
purchase massages, facials,
reflexology and other treatments.
(See Spa menu from one
cruise). Between treatments,
guests can unwind in the
Relation area (far right).
Jewel of the Seas has two main pool
areas. The forward pool area is the
spectacular Solarium, which is an
Asian-inspired fantasy paradise. It lies
beneath a retractable glass ceiling and
thus can be used in any weather. The
area includes a pool, two whirlpools,
deck chairs, its own bar, and its own
café.
The outdoor Pool area has a
pool, two whirlpools and a
bar. There is also a section of
open deck for a band and
dancing. A bather sits by the
edge of the pool in hopes
someone will want to play
beach ball (right).
On the aft side of the funnel is Royal
Caribbean's signature rock climbing wall
(left). Other sports facilities include a
jogging track (below left); shuffleboard
(below); ping pong (further below); a
basketball/sports court (below right) and
a well-decorated mini-golf course (above
right),
One can walk outdoors from the tip
Jewel's bow to her stern on the
wrap around promenade. At the
bow end is a raised platform that is
marked for helicopter landings.
However, most of the time,
passengers can use it to get a
unique perspective of the ship's
passage.
The Spa also includes an impressive
Thermal Suite that includes a sauna,
various styles of steam rooms and
heated thermal chairs.
Facilities in the
fitness center include
treadmills and other
exercise machines,
free weights, and a
large area for
aerobics and fitness
classes. (See menu of
offerings on one
cruise).
