Cunard’s stated aim in building the ship was to
recreate the golden age of transatlantic passenger
ship travel.  However, the passengers on the
TITANIC, the NORMANDIE, and the first QUEEN
MARY, never had it as good as passengers on QM2.
Even the passengers in first class on those ships had
to make compromises, as the facilities were just not
the same as those they were used to on land.  On
QM2, the accommodations are comparable to a first-
class hotel on land.  Of course, as with a hotel, the
more one pays for a cabin, the more luxury one
receives.  It should be noted that passengers in the
lowest price cabins can go almost anywhere on the
ship and use the same amenities as passengers in
the best suites.

QUEENS GRILL SUITES
Passengers staying in the Queens Grill suites receive a number of amenities
including a butler to do such things as pack and run errands, a bottle of champagne,
an in-cabin X-Box, flower arrangements, and  personalized stationery.  They have a
reserved table in the single-seating Queens Grill restaurant or they may dine in-suite
selecting from the Queens Grill menu.
The Balmoral Suite is one of two Grand Duplex suites.  The lower level (top right)
features a large living area leading out onto private deck space facing aft.  On both
the lower level and the upper level are marble bathrooms.  The one on the upper
level (lower right) features its own whirlpool and an ocean view window.   Also on
the upper level is a large bedroom.  The suite measures 2,249 square feet.
Situated between the two Grand Duplex Suites is the smaller Holyrood Suites (1,194 square feet).  Like its neighbors,
the Holyrood is a duplex with a lower level that leads out to a private deck area (above right).  The upper level has
a large bedroom area (above left)  that can be closed-off or left open so that the guests can look out the large
picture windows (lower right).
At the other end of the ship are the Royal Suites (796 square feet).  The Queen Victoria suite has a living area that
offers the same spectacular views over the ship's bows as in the Commodore Club one deck below or, for that matter,
from the navigation bridge one deck above (above left).  The bedroom is large (above right) has a master bath with
shower and separate whirlpool.   The suite also has a second bath with shower.
The Queens Grill suites that do not have
individual names are located along the
sides of the ship on Decks 8, 9 and 10.
They all have their own balconies.  The
bedroom connects with a bath that has its
own whirlpool (above left).  It also opens
into a combination living and dining room
so as to form an L-shaped area (lower
right).  These suites are 506 square feet.
