Because the beach was used for landing
guests and supplies only a portion of the
beach could be used for swimming.

The dining facilities on the island consisted
of a wooden structure where the food was
prepared (above) and another wooden
structure with picnic tables where the guests
could eat (right).

The straw market was a series of wooden booths.

As of this writing, NCL is continuing its multi-million
dollar enhancement of the island.

Additional beach areas are being developed and various
other improvements are being made to the facilities and
infrastructure.

the 2010 -2011 improvements

As they do today, guests and supplies
arrived on the island prior to the 2010 -
2011 improvements to GSC on tenders.
However, there was no dock on the island
and so the guests and supplies were
landed on the main beach in a manner
similar to the amphibious landings seen
in World War II movies.
