AMENITIES
Staying in ones cabin is not what this ship is all about.
There is a plethora of programs and amenities. Moreover,
they are targeted so as to accommodate people with
different tastes, circumstances and/or inclinations. To
illustrate, there is not one pool area but rather one large area
for younger cruisers with water jets and colorful statues,
another area that is more traditional where parents and
children can mix, and an equally large area that is off-limits
to children.
LIBERTY has all the amenities that one would expect to
find on a cruise ship - - bars, theaters, a spa, a gym etc.
However, it also has things that have no nautical roots. For
example, the Royal Promenade, with its shops, bars, and
eating establishments is more akin to a landside shopping
mall than the traditional interior of a ship. Along the same
lines, ice skating and rock climbing are not traditionally
shipboard amusements. But, RCI would undoubtedly say,
“who cares, they are fun.” Since the object is to build a
venue wherepeople can have a good time, why not bring
such entertainments onboard?
An almost trademark feature on RCI
ships is the rock climbing wall behind
the ship's funnel.
LIBERTY is also equipped with the
popular Flow-Rider surfing simulator
that debuted on FREEDOM OF THE
SEAS
