GRAND PRINCESS
TOUR AND
COMMENTARY
(continued)
GRAND PRINCESS has three main show
lounges. The theory is that by having different
types of entertainment, each lounge will attract
a portion of the passenger body because not
everyone has the same taste. Not only does this
give the passenger more options but it makes
the ship feel more intimate. The Princess
Theater seats 748 and is the site of the ship's
production shows (above right). The Vista
Lounge (right) features Las Vegas-style
entertainment. The Explorers Lounge (below)
seeks to evoke an African feel and is used for
cabaret acts, singers, magicians and comedians.
It has its own bar and the seating is grouped
around tables.
Skywalkers (above) is the nightclub
located in the spoiler that overhangs the
ship's stern. During the day, it serves as a
quiet observation lounge with spectacular
views from 150 feet above the water. At
night, there is a bar, a DJ and a dance
floor. Access is via a glass enclosed
moving walkway (left).
Princess asserts that the Atlantis casino at 13,500 square feet is the largest casino at sea. It houses slot
machines, gaming tables, a bar and 3-D hologram artwork.
Among the outdoor bars are the Alfresco Bar (left), which is by the Terrace Pool and the Calypso Bar (right),
which is underneath the retractable dome covering the Calypso Pool.
The Wheelhouse Bar is a standard on Princess ships and the one on Grand Princess has the stateliness and
elegance that are the trademarks of these club-like rooms.
Snookers is GRAND PRINCESS' cigar and sports bar. It features sports broadcasts as entertainment and
sports memorabilia as decoration.
The Promenade Lounge and Bar (left) is a piano bar. In the mornings it offers coffee drinks and pastries
while in the evening it has a caviar menu. As the name indicates, The Lobby Bar (right) is situated in the
ship's lobby.
