Enchantment of the Seas is the fifth of Royal
Caribbean's Vision class of cruise ships.  When the ship
went into service in 1997, she had a gross tonnage of
74,000 tons.  However, in May-June 2005, she was taken
to Rotterdam in The Netherlands where she was
substantially enlarged.  Enchantment was cut in two and a
73-foot section that had been constructed in Finland and
brought to the shipyard by barge was inserted into the
middle.

Among other things, this enlargement gave the ship a
larger pool deck and the open decks were substantially
enhanced.  In addition, RCI took the opportunity to enhance
the interior of the ship, redoing the ship's buffet as well as
adding a specialty restaurant, a new nightclub and an art
gallery.  Another 151 passenger cabins were also added.
Enchantment has a good quality contemporary decor.  The
public rooms make use of light colored woods and fabrics
interspersed with polished metal.  There is a nice art
collection featuring a variety of different styles of statues.
With the exception of the casino, there is little glitter or
shock and awe.

The style of cruising onboard is casual although the
ship does have formal nights.

Enchantment is currently offering year-round cruising
from Baltimore, Maryland to the Bahamas, Bermuda, the
Caribbean and Canada/New England.
