Above: Summit's Grand Staircase was given a
brighter look during the refit.

Below: The Internet Café was made redundant
by the iLounge and displaced by the new Martini
Bar.

The Card Room (right) became part of the expanded
seating area for Café al Baccio.

The children's area, the Fun Factory, (below) was moved
from the after portion of Sunrise Deck to the forward
portion, claiming some of the space that had been occupied
by Revelations.

The Video Arcade was also moved forward.

Inasmuch as the addition of Cellar Masters
and Bistro on Five required closing the
large opening from which the patrons of the
Champagne and Martini bars on Deck Five
could look down at the Rendezvous
Lounge on Deck Four, the Rendezvous
Lounge had to be changed to some degree
as well.

Revelations before the refit. It was reduced in size
and received a new look.

Summit had several small conference rooms along the starboard
side of Plaza Deck (left). They were displaced by new cabins. A new
conference center replaced the former Cinema (above).

A major change during the refit was the addition of Cellar Masters and Bistro on Five. These two new venues displaced
a matched pair of lounges on Entertainment Deck. On the starboard side was the Martini Bar (above) while the
Champagne Bar is in the corresponding location of the port side (below left). The two lounges were linked together by
a small specialty bar area (below right).

The Cova Wine Bar was displaced by the Café al Bacio
and the Gelateria.

In 2012, Celebrity Summit underwent a
significant refurbishment. The objective
was to give Summit some of the features
that have found favor with guests on
Celebrity's Solstice-class ships. Thus, this
refurbishment was called "Solsticizing."

This refurbishment had been planned for
some time and was originally scheduled to
take place in 2011. (See interview).
However, Celebrity decided to Solsticize
Summit's sister ship Celebrity Infinity
before Summit. In addition, Celebrity
decided to do an even more extensive refit
than was originally planned.

The refit saw the addition of several new
dining venues, several new bars and new
staterooms as well as the refurbishment
of several other public areas and all of the
existing accommodations.

Some of the results of this effort have
been shown on the preceding pages of this
tour. This page looks at how some of
areas that were changed during the refit
looked beforehand.
