OVERVIEW
CELEBRITY GALAXY attracts upscale experienced
travelers.  These are people who have been to many
destinations and are looking for a relaxing but stimulating
experience.  They want some formality but also time to be
casual.  They desire quality and good service.
The decor of Galaxy is attuned to that audience.  It is
modern and sophisticated.  This is reflected not only in the
design of the public spaces but in the extensive art collection
spread throughout the public areas.  While there is an
occasional nod to the past, most of these works are relatively
contemporary.  Moreover, there is more than a touch of
whimsy in it.  Although the pieces may not be to everyone's
taste, they are interesting and one gets the feeling that some
intelligent thought went into putting it together.
Sophisticated travelers require good service and Celebrity
makes service a priority.  The staff is friendly and the take pride
in their work.
At 77,000 gross tons, Galaxy is a large ship, although well
below the size of the recent mega-cruise ships.  Built in 1996,
she is kept very clean and showed no obvious signs of wear.
Nonetheless, a refurbishment is planned for 2008.
