OVERVIEW

Celebrity Equinox is the second ship in
Celebrity’s Solstice class of ships. (See
profile of sister ship Celebrity Solstice). At
122,000 gross tons, these are the largest
ships in the Celebrity fleet and at this point
are at the upper end of large cruise ships.
However, the ships do not feel overpowering
like some large cruise ships. Indeed, with a
capacity of 2,850 passengers, Equinox
carries fewer passengers than many smaller
ships. As a result, there is more space per
passenger.

The relaxed atmosphere on Equinox is not
entirely attributable to space ratios. Rather,
one gets the impression that each area of the
ship received serious attention from the
designers in order to generate such an
atmosphere. It is a contemporary design
which uses subtle lighting to give the ship an
upscale, sophisticated feel.

Equinox gives passengers plenty of options
in structuring their cruise vacation. In the
dining area for instance, guests can select
either traditional dining or flexible dining in
the main dining room. Alternatively, there
are three specialty restaurants with different
styles and cuisines. In addition to the main
buffet, there are an array of casual eateries.

Similarly, with regard to entertainment, there
is the main theater, a comedy club and
interactive production shows that take place
in other venues. Of course, there is also live
music in the various bars and lounges. The
glass blowing demonstrations are another
unique alternative.

Equinox attracts an educated prosperous
passenger. Celebrity seeks to meet their
expectations with a high quality enrichment
program, above average facilities and very
good service. In this regard, it should be
noted that Celebrity’s innovative onboard
programming concept, Celebrity Life, was
debuted and developed on Equinox See

In 2010, Equinox is sailing the Caribbean in
the colder months and the Mediterranean in
the summer and into the fall before returning
to the Caribbean.
