AND
COMMENTARY
Bars, Lounges,
Nighttime
Entertainment
With the ancient Romans love of spectacle in mind, the largest
entertainment venue on TRIUMPH is the three-deck Rome Show
Lounge, seating 1,400 guests. It is the venue for the ship's Las
Vegas-style production shows and featured visiting entertainers. It
is also used during the day for activities and presentations such as
th disembarkation talk.
Nearby is the California Wine Bar (left). A unique feature of
this area are the glass sculptures by Italian artist Lucio Bubacco
(above middle). Although it is a wine bar, this venue is also
known for its colorful and sophisticated mixed drinks (above right).
The walls of the
Hollywood Dance
Club are lined with
hundreds of television
screens (left) while the bar
is built around pillars that
contain a bubbling liquid
reminiscent of champagne
(right). The lighting can
be changed to give the bar
an entirely different look
(below right).
Shipboard casinos are, of
course very popular, and
TRIUMPH devotes
considerable space to its
casino, which has a capacity
of 460. Here, Mr. Farcus
sought to recall the
legendary casino at Monte
Carlo. Club Monaco is a
mixture of elegant round
marble columns and hand
painted fabric walls with
state-of-the-art gaming
equipment including slot
machines, electronic gaming
and traditional gaming.
The World Bar is part of
this complex. It has a small
stage that is used for
activities such as trivia
contests as well as for live
music in the evenings.
Just off the atrium on
Promenade Deck is
the Olympic Bar
(right). This is a
sports bar with
televisions displaying
various sports
broadcasts. It
includes a collection
of memorabilia from
past Olympic games.
Taking one of the glass elevators down to Lobby Deck, one finds the Capitol Bar, sometimes referred to as the Lobby Bar. There is
a small stage behind the bar where pianists and other entertainers perform. In addition, there are tables and chairs in the area
surrounding the bar. Located in the atrium on the same level as the reception desk and the tour office, it has a centralized feel that
adds to the atmosphere.
The Oxford Grand Bar is a large room (154 seats) with an English flavor. Lined with wood
paneling, the room recalls the Restoration era stately homes of the British nobility. On the walls,
are reproductions of portraits of Tudor and Stuart monarchs.
The room is used for a variety of activities. On sea days, a popular afternoon tea is served here.
In the evenings, there is live music, including on occasion jazz performances by the musicians
from the Rome Lounge.

portrait on a Fun Ship.
TRIUMPH also has pool area bars on Lido Deck. Left is the New World Bar and right is the Continental Bar.

dancers pose for guests'
pictures after a show.

show ends in fireworks.
At the opposite end of the
ship is the Club Rio
Lounge, which is used
for karaoke, late night
comedy and for
receptions. It has a bar,
stage and dance floor and
can seat 425 guests.
The name of the
room was selected
because of Rio de
Janeiro's
connection to
Carnivale and
things festive.
Accordingly,
Brazilian rosewood
was used in the
decoration
TRIUMPH's piano bar is
named the Big Easy Bar
after New Orleans. Its walls
are lined with real oyster
shells obtained from the
Acme, a leading oyster house
in that city.
The Venezia Bar was
designed after the small
piazettas in Venice,
Italy. Although
originally intended as a
jazz bar, the room is
often used by the ship's
rock and popular music
band. It has a
bandstand, a dance
floor and a bar.
