COMMENTARY
POOLS, SPA,
SPORTS AND
OPEN DECKS
TRIUMPH has three outdoor swimming
pools.
The large central pool area is the
Continental Pool (middle right). In
addition to a 30 foot by 6 foot pool, it has
two whirlpools. At the forward end of the
area are terraces of deck chairs giving
the area an ampitheater look.
During the 2008 refit, a large LCD movie
screen was installed over the pool area.
The Carnival Seaside Theater shows
concerts, sporting events and movies
(below).
The New World Pool (below) has a
retractable glass roof so that it can be
used in all weathers. It has a bar, places
to snack, and two whirlpools (below left).
Besides the area surrounding the
pools, there is space for
sun-worshiping on Sky Deck (left) and
on Sun Deck (right).
TRIUMPH has an array
of sports facilities. They
include a jogging track
(above left), a nine-hole
mini golf course (middle
left), ping pong (below
left), an outdoor
promenade for strolling,
(below right), a golf
practice net (middle
right), a basketball court
(above right) and
shuffleboard (above).
SPA
The Spa Carnival is an extensive area on Decks 11 and
12 forward and includes a spa, gymnasium and salon. (See
menu of spa and salon services that were offered during
one cruise).
The spa area has treatment rooms for couples and for
individuals (above left and right).
Both the men's and women's locker rooms have saunas
(left) and steam rooms (right)
The ship also has one of
the longest water slides at
sea (left). It terminates
beside the much smaller
Universal Slide Pool
(right).
The Gymnasium
has floor to ceiling
windows that look out
on three sides as well
as a skylight, which
makes for lots of
natural light. The
equipment includes
free weights,
cardiovascular
machines such as
treadmills, and weight
machines. Aerobics
and other fitness
classes as well as
seminars are given in
the glass-enclosed
central area.
The Salon offers services
for men and women.
