CARNIVAL
FREEDOM
PHOTO TOUR
AND
COMMENTARY

OVERVIEW
Carnival Freedom is the fifth of Carnival's Conquest class of
ships. (See also sister ship Carnival Glory). The Conquest
class is a larger version of the design that began with the Carnival
Destiny. As such, it is a tried and successful design.
At 110,000 gross tons, Carnival Freedom is a mega-cruise ship.
However, the design allows for good passenger flow throughout
the ship. In addition, the bow thrusters and stern thrusters have
sufficient power to make the ship quite maneuverable.
All of the Carnival ships have themes and the theme of Carnival
Freedom is "the Decades through the Centuries". Thus, the
inspriation for the decor is time. This often translates into bold
colors and designs in the public rooms. One may not want to
decorate ones house in the same style but it does create and
interesting and fun environment for a vacation, which is what
Carnival set out to do.
During her first seasons, Carnival Freedom spent part of the year
sailing the Mediterraean. Her current schedule, however, has her
sailing on 6 to 8 day cruises to the Caribbean and the Bahamas.

Deck 6, The Centuries connects the public
rooms between the ship's two atriums.

The artwork varies from cartoon-like
murals to large nature paintings in
the stairways. Almost hideen here
and there are displays of interesting
collectibles.
