CARNIVAL DESTINY maintains the passenger ship tradition of having seatings and reserved tables in its two main dining rooms. The times of the seatings are slightly staggered so that there are four seatings all told - - two in each dining room. This allows passengers some choice in dining times. The Universe Dining Room at the stern of the ship is two levels and holds 1,114 passengers. While this is a large room, there is considerable variety in the tables. There are large tables in the central area (above) for groups and for people who want to join groups. On the sides of the room are smaller tables (left). At the back are tables with spectacular views over the ship's stern (below left). On the balcony there are small intimate tables looking over the central dining area (below).
The Galaxy Dining Room is smaller than the Universe, holding 706 passengers. It is located amidships and thus does not have the benefit of having windows on three sides as in the Universe. However, like the Universe it is two decks high with a balcony and offers a variety of table arrangements.
Above and right. The Sun and Sea Restaurant is the ship's buffet. It can accommodate 1,252 hungry souls in its two levels of seating. Part of the buffet area includes Happy Valley, which specializes in Asian cuisine (below left) and the New York Deli (below), which provides sandwiches. Passengers by the Solar Pool who wish to dine outside can find light fare at two outdoor buffets (below right).
In the Sun & Sea Pool area, one finds DESTINY's pizzeria (left) and the grille for hamburgers and hot dogs (right).
Two more specialized venues: a sushi bar (left) and the Cafe on the Way, which offers specialty coffees and pastries.
