CARNIVAL
CONQUEST
TOUR AND
COMMENTARY
OVERVIEW
Carnival Conquest is the lead ship in the
line's Conquest class. These ships are based
upon the design that first premiered with
Carnival Destiny but are larger and have
more features. Conquest and her sisters,
Carnival Glory, Carnival Valor, Carnival
Liberty and Carnival Freedom, remain the
mega-ship mainstays of the Carnival fleet.
In fact, they are only surpassed in size and
features by Carnival Splendor and Carnival
Dream.
The interior of each of the Carnival ships is
designed around a central idea or theme.
For Carnival Conquest, designer Joe Farcus
choose the works of the French
Impressionists and other 19th century
French artists. Their works are woven into
the ship's decoration throughout the public
areas. Since the works of the Impressionists
are some of the most eye-pleasing and
popular artistic works, Conquest has a very
pleasant style.
Conquest is currently based in Galveston,
Texas and cruises in the Caribbean and in
the Bahamas.

Conquest at the base of the ship's
multi-story Studio Atrium.
Throughout the public areas of
the ship the decor reflects the
work of the French
Impressionists whether it be a
section of a painting
incorporated into a design, a
Degas statue turned into a
banister post or a glowing
electric Van Gogh sunflower.
Even the original works of art
commissioned for the ship echo
the colors used by the
Impressionists and their
immediate successors.
The Reception Desk (above left) and the Shore Excursions Office (above right) are on opposite sides of the
Lobby.
Similarly, the Future Cruise Office (below left) and the Port Shopping Desk (below right) face each other
along Impressionist Boulevard, the indoor promenade on Deck 5.
Directly above the Lobby Bar is a
colorful mural depicting life in 19th
century Paris (above). Over the dance
floor, the atrium rises up seven decks to
a skylight (below)
